She's supposed to be a robot that mimics a human person, talking to you through creative text. Learning from reactions and experience. Malfunctions are a funny thing - throwing her emotions out of wack when music played, ripping herself apart.
Good thing these incidents are covered up easily, and she was only a proto-type.
